Intraoperative TEE Diagnostic Dilemmas: You Make the Call!

Educational Objectives: At the end of this workshop, the participant will understand the relevant impact of TEE on perioperative decision-making in specific clinical scenarios. An interactive, case discussion format will be utilized. Summaries of the cases involving a potpourri of valvular, aortic, cardiac function, intracardiac masses and congenital unknowns will be included in the syllabus for pre-workshop review.

TEE in Valvular Heart Disease: A Review
Chair:
Christopher A. Troianos, MD
Educational Objective: Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to identify and evaluate pathologic, stenotic and regurgitant valvular abnormalities and quantify the severity of the valve disease. Participants should also be able to identify mitral and aortic valvular abnormalities that are amenable to repair versus replacement and complications associated with valve repair and replacement.
