Clinically oriented rotation with great caseload diversity. Thoracic rotation also available to those interested. Fellowship is tailored to allow the fellow to pick best cases, read a lot (one office day per week even during 9 clinical months), not be on call or up late much, and learn echocardiography under a very collegial collaborative anesthesiology - cardiology based system. Fellow is expected to transition from advanced level resident performance for first 2-3 months to intermediate supervisory role (middle 6 months) to independence (last 3 months). Funding:

All new ORs have anesthesia dedicated computers with Dept. and internet access. Two new Siemens / Acuson Sequoia digital echocardiography machines with a teaching workstation and shared server with cardiology. Surgical robotic program started.
