The Torch is Passed

This is the last issue of the Newsletter for which I will be editor. Dr. Albert Cheung, who has been serving as Assistant Editor, will takeover as of the upcoming Annual Meeting. Dr. Cheung has already been proofreading the Newsletter. He represented the needs and interests of the Newsletter Committee at a recent SCA Board of Directors meeting. He has already been hard at work, and therefore the transition should be smooth.

Dr. Cheung is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently on the Council for Intraoperative Echocardiography. He was very active in developing our perioperative echo-cardiography certification. He has lectured on numerous topics related to echocardiography, congestive heart failure, and valvular disease. He does clinical research on drugs of importance to cardiovascular anesthesiologists, including amiodarone and dexmedetomidine, and on deep hypothermic cardiac arrest and patient warming. On top of all this, he has flawless grammar.

We are lucky to have Dr. Cheung as our next Newsletter Committee Chairman and Newsletter editor.
