Nominations for Board of Directors Positions

Dr. Richard Davis, Chair of the Nominating Committee has announced the selection of the following for the Board of Directors positions.

Nancy A. Nussmeier, M.D.

A graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Nussmeier completed her internship and an anesthesia residency at Massachusetts General. Following a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesia at Emory University Hospital, she joined the Texas Heart Institute as an attending. She is presently Director, Cardiovascular Anesthesia Research at the Institute and is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center.

Dr. Nussmeier serves as co-chair of the SCA Research Committee and has in the past participated in the Annual Meeting and Workshops, Update on Cardiopulmonary Bypass Meeting and Comprehensive Review of Intraoperative Echo Meeting.

Isobel A. Russell, Ph.D., M.D.

Dr. Russell is presently Associate Professor in Residence at the University of California, San Francisco, having completed her residency and internship at this institution. She received her MD and PhD from Tulane University School of Medicine. Her undergraduate work was completed at the University of Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom with first class honors in biochemistry.

Very active in the educational offerings of SCA, Dr. Russell has co-chaired and served as faculty for the TEE Workshops (1993-1995) and the Pediatric Workshop (1996-1998) at the Annual Meeting. She has served as a member of the Society's Education, Nominating and Program Committees.
